Accoridng to Al-Manar TV EN website, Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah held a ceremony to mark the martyrdom anniversary of leaders Sayyed Nasrallah and Sayyed Safieddine on Sunday.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem delivered a televised speech to the audience attending the cermemony.
"We mark the second anniversary of the martyrdom of the two Hezbollah secretaries general, a commemoration that honors the martyrs and affirms the continuity and steadfastness of the resistance," Sheikh Qassem said.
Addressing martyr Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, the new Hezbollah leader said, "You became a symbol of resistance worldwide; your teachings remain, and the path you built will continue, with Palestine and the liberation of our land remaining our priority."
Sheikh Qassem also addresse Sayyed Safieddine, saying, "Your journey was marked by jihad and service in Hezbollah, and you were a strong supporter and aide to Sayyed Nasrallah; you will remain a landmark in the resistance’s path."
He also paid tribute to Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi and four Hezbollah commanders martyred in the Mighty Warriors Battle: Fouad Shukr, Ibrahim Aqil, Ali Karaki, and Suhail Husseini
Sheikh Qassem further paid tribute to Hezbollah commanders Nabil Qawouk and Abbas Nilforoushan, and to Haj Mortada, Haj Adel Bahsoun and Haj Maher Shaheen, who were martyred alongside Sayyed Safieddine
He later said that, "When the November 27, 2024 agreement took effect, the Lebanese authorities were expected to fully assume responsibility, but no results followed."
The Hezbollah leader further asserted, "With the resistance fighters and the resistance’s people, and with such spirit and sacrifice, we have no choice but to persevere; we shall not be defeated, and never shall we accept humiliation."
The resistance leader went on to say that "The problem is the aggression, not the resistance; submitting to aggression to make it stop means surrender.
He went on to admire Iran for the successful defense against aggressors, declaring that Hezbollah will remain loyal to the resistance.
According to Qassem, "Iran will prove to the world that it protected this world from falling, in the interests of the forces of resistance and humanity."
He addressed to the residents of the destroyed villages in the Zionist regime's aggression saying "You are a living embodiment of honor, dignity, pride, humanity, and sacrifice; you have given far more than your homes—you have given your sons, yourselves, and your children."
He continued to address the Resistance community, saying, "I announce to you that we are committed to providing shelter, repairs, and reconstruction through our own resources and donations."
Hezbollah leader further lambasted the Lebanese government's talks with the occupiers as brokered by Washington, saying that the president of Lebanon has no right to relinquish Lebanon’s and its people’s and army’s right to defend its territory or to hold the occupier accountable, stressing that "the president bears primary responsibility for protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty."
He continued by saying, "the problem is the aggression, not the resistance; submitting to aggression to make it stop means surrender."
Qassem also said, "Submitting to aggression is surrender; we reject it, and Lebanon must remain united without giving up any part of its territory, as surrender would threaten its coexistence and sovereignty."
He further said, "The framework agreement is a shameful concession by the Lebanese authorities, which surrendered Lebanon’s leverage and all its potential demands in a single session, to the benefit of Israel."
